Our Space

We are a cute one room dining area with seating for 24 people. We decorate with a whimsical vibe, leaving space to feature local artists.

Check out our Community Board, Little Free Library, and Games section. We can say for certain that Hungry Hungry Unicorns is by far the most popular game, even if a few marbles are missing.

Our Mission

We provide an affordable and inclusive tea experience for families, individuals with special dietary needs, and people looking for a relaxed environment to enjoy with friends and family.

Our Values

Inclusive - we don’t like to be judged on our outward appearance or our beliefs and we strive not to judge others.
Affordable - our goal is to keep our prices affordable so enjoying a tea party, a drink or pastry.
Fun - we bring people together for the enjoyment of each other’s company. And the best way to celebrate that is with a smile and a laugh.
Light-hearted - our staff strike the balance between being professional with our customers without taking ourselves too seriously. The goal is to bring some levity and joy to the people who visit us.

Our Story

Snapdragon Tea was started by three partners who all love tea and tea parties, and were looking for an experience that wasn’t available with the existing tea houses.

Lydia is a grandmother with a young granddaughter that didn’t meet the age requirements.

Kitt is trans and feels some people in these traditional Victorian spaces are judging their appearance.

Vanessa is vegan and could not find a fully vegan tea party menu.

Which led us to think, how about creating a space where we can enjoy tea and the tea party experience without taking ourselves too seriously. Let’s make it fun, casual, and affirming people's differences. So now we have Snapdragon Tea, a fun and casual tea cafe that provides an affordable and inclusive tea experience. We started Snapdragon Tea in 2021 in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic. As the vaccines were rolling out, people were eager to have small in-person celebrations while being cautious of crowded spaces. We provided catered tea parties at people’s homes and to-go tea parties that people could use to create their own tea party in the safety of their home.

In 2023 we opened our tea cafe in the Bricklight District on Central and Harvard. We offer curated tea parties on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with rotating theme menus. Throughout the week we offer breakfast and lunch options on our cafe menu.
